Last month Australia’s cultural hub played host to Melbourne Music Week.
Yet another unique musical treat to add to the City of Melbourne’s already heaving array of events on their annual social calendar.
This year Levi’s® was proud to take part in Melbourne Music Week in becoming the presenting partner of the Self-Made Program which unearths and supports emerging creative talent – encouraging finalists to produce their own live music events within the official program.
Each year the Self-Made Program offers a final short listed group of talented producers $1,000 each to assist them in getting their various creative concepts off the ground. The program also offers them mentorship, advice and guidance along the way.
The class of 2015 saw 12 talented creatives present their diverse offerings. The diversity of the program was a pure joy and saw multi-sensory live music across an assortment of unique spaces – including brunch gigs, interactive installations inspired by music and nature, atmospheric synth tunes in a scratch warehouse, an evening of New Orleans food and music in the heart of the city, live music and DJs at the Old Melbourne Goal, a bike ride that saw punters riding to various gigs – to name a few!
